Engineering students to work

AGRA: To help all the nearby Agra villages to overcome their problems, students of engineering colleges will help them find solutions and also, work for their development.

Each of the engineering college has been asked to adopt at least five villages for the overall development. Some of the engineering colleges have started a survey to identify the villages.
The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has directed all the approved colleges to work for the progress of villages under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The ministry has also provided Rs 50,000 to the institutes.

The colleges have been asked to first conduct a survey and shortlist five major problems which the people in the five selected villages are facing. The engineering students will then have to come up with the best possible solutions to these problems.

Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University’s Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), located in the Khandari campus, has started the process of identifying villages to adopt them for development.

Professor VK Saraswat said, “Institute has five engineering branches. These branches will be assigned one village each. Soon, a list of all the five adopted villages with their details will be sent to the MHRD.”

Director of RBS technical campus in Bichpuri Brajesh Kushwah said, “Following the directives of the MHRD, a survey has been initiated to identify five villages to be adopted under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Students will identify the major problems in these villages and work towards solving their issues at the earliest.”
